Some good in the neighborhood
Washington DC is a close community filled with the best of the best. This is evident in the city’s devotion to philanthropy and the many organizations that fill the Nation’s Capital. These organizations are the heartbeat of some of the nation’s most underserved programs and communities, and we’d like to take the time to shine a light on some key players!
We’re kicking things off by highlighting an organization we’ve partnered with many times over the years, La Clínica Del Pueblo. La Clínica Del Pueblo offers comprehensive health services to our Latin communities including medical care, mental health assistance, medical interpretation and language advocacy, inclusion, education, and safe spaces. Their aid for thousands of Washingtonians each year is invaluable, and the work never stops. If you’d like to contribute to their work, you can donate at the link above!
In addition to this month’s honoree, we’re always eager to talk up our own foundation that’s near and dear to our hearts, the birdSEED foundation. Officially launched in 2020, the birdSEED foundation is a pioneer in combatting racial housing injustice with no-strings-attached down payment grants for first time BIPOC homebuyers in DC and Philadelphia. This foundation spread it’s wings from Nest’s mother bird, Flock, and its purpose is the driving motivation behind the work we do here at Nest. We’re committed to breaking barriers towards a more just and equitable future in housing, and hope you’ll join us along the way.
